Terms of Service

By using OkadaDrop you agree to these terms. They apply to senders and to riders, and some sections apply only to one or the other.

What OkadaDrop is

OkadaDrop is a platform that connects people who need a package moved with independent okada riders who move it. We are not a courier company and riders are not our employees. We price the job, hold the record, handle settlement and set the standards riders must meet.

Using OkadaDrop as a sender

• You must be 18 or older and give accurate pickup and drop-off details.
• You are responsible for what you send. Cash, live animals, illegal goods, hazardous materials, and anything a bike cannot carry safely are not permitted.
• The fare shown before you confirm is the fare you pay. If you change the drop-off after a rider has accepted, the fare is recalculated.
• You can cancel free of charge until a rider accepts. After that a small cancellation fee may apply, and it is shown before you confirm the cancellation.

Riding for OkadaDrop

• You must hold a valid licence, a registered and roadworthy motorbike, and pass Ghana Card verification before accepting any job.
• You are an independent contractor. You choose when to work and which jobs to accept.
• You must deliver to the person or place specified, and record each status change honestly and at the time it happens.
• Repeated cancellations, poor ratings, or dishonest status updates can end your access to the platform.

Payment

Fares are paid by Mobile Money or in cash to the rider. Rider earnings are paid out on the schedule shown in the app, less the platform fee disclosed at the time the job is accepted.

Loss and damage

Report a lost or damaged package from the delivery’s record in the app within 48 hours. We investigate every report against the trip record. Compensation is limited to the declared value of the package up to GHS 1,000 per delivery, unless the law provides otherwise. Pack things properly — items sent unpacked or badly packed are not covered.

Availability

We aim to keep OkadaDrop running, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted service. Weather, network outages and rider availability all affect whether a delivery can be made at a given moment.

Ending your account

You can close your account at any time from the app. We can suspend an account that breaks these terms, and we’ll tell you why.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Ghana, and disputes are subject to the jurisdiction of the courts of Ghana.
